Setting the standard for High quality Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Education in India
This expansion brings with it a critical need for highly skilled, DGCA-licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (AMEs). Recognizing this, InterGlobe is committed to playing a pivotal role in shaping India’s aviation future.
To address the growing demand for technical expertise, InterGlobe established the School for Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (SAME), an ab-initio training institute focused on developing next-generation aircraft maintenance engineers. SAME inducts students post 10+2 and prepares them for DGCA examinations, a necessary step toward obtaining an AME license. The program is designed to meet the increasing demand for high-quality engineering talent across airlines and MROs in India.
Setting New Standards in AME Education
SAME offers world-class education and hands-on training that fully complies with the standards set by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India. These standards are aligned with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) framework, in accordance with CAR 147 (Basic) regulations.
With a team of internationally experienced faculty, cutting-edge equipment, and modern teaching methodologies, SAME is committed to developing highly skilled aircraft maintenance engineers who meet global aviation standards.
Located on a 25,000 sq. ft. state-of-the-art campus, SAME offers:
- Fully equipped, modern workshops & Labs
- Well-stocked physical library
- Hands-on training with an HS-125 aircraft
- A dedicated Audio-Visual Room for Computer-Based Training
- A strong emphasis on practical learning aligned with global standards
SAME offers ab initio training in two DGCA-approved categories:
- Mechanical (Category B1.1 – Aeroplane Turbine)
- Avionics (Category B2)
Both programs span two years, divided into four semesters of six months each. The curriculum is designed to provide a balanced mix of theoretical knowledge and practical exposure.
SAME is dedicated to shaping this next generation of aviation professionals by equipping them with the technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and practical exposure required in a dynamic global environment. Through its rigorous training and industry-aligned approach, SAME aims to produce competent, DGCA-licensed AMEs who are not only prepared to meet current industry demands but are also capable of driving the future of aviation maintenance in India and beyond.
