A tomb restored to its original glory

The mausoleum of Abdur Rahim opened to public after 6 years of strenuous restoration efforts

In-line with the vision of reviving heritage monuments in the country, InterGlobe Foundation and Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC) announced the completion of restoration work on Abdur Rahim Khan-i-Khanan’s tomb in the Nizamuddin area. The tomb was opened to public on 17th Decemeber 2020 on the birth anniversary of the great poet.

The event was presided over by the Hon’ble Minister of State for Tourism & Culture, Shri Prahlad Singh Patel along with Smt. Rohini Bhatia, Chairperson – InterGlobe Foundation, Shri Ratish Nanda, CEO – AKTC, and other members of the AKTC & InterGlobe Teams responsible for restoring this monument back to life.

Commenting on the project completion, Ms. Rohini Bhatia, Chairperson, InterGlobe Foundation, said, “India is known for its cultural heritage, hence the preservation of our art and culture is essential for our identity.
